BLS for Students
Most clinical placements in the UAE will not let a student onto a ward without a current BLS course certificate. Getting it early also means your first real emergency is not your first time doing CPR.
In short
Take AHA BLS before your first clinical placement, keep the eCard, and renew every two years so it is valid when you graduate and apply for your licence.
Hospitals expect everyone on a clinical floor, including students, to be able to start CPR and use an AED while help arrives. A current AHA BLS card is the usual proof.
Before your first placement. Plan the timing so the two-year validity covers the placements that need it, and renew before it lapses. Graduating with a current card saves a step when you apply for a job or licence.

Students often find themselves as the second or third person at a ward arrest, and the most useful thing they can do is take a turn on compressions. Good BLS training means you can do that confidently, at the right depth and rate, and swap cleanly when the leader asks. See two-rescuer BLS.
