On-Site PALS
Paediatric units have a problem adult wards do not: they often need a minimum number of PALS-certified staff on every shift, so they cannot send half the team away at once. On-site PALS course sessions solve that.
How it works
We bring AHA instructors and paediatric equipment to your unit, run sessions sized to your shift pattern, and test and certify staff in their own clinical setting.
We plan several shorter sessions across a week rather than one large group, so the unit keeps its PALS cover throughout. Staff who complete HeartCode online beforehand only need a skills session.
Scenarios can use your resuscitaire or resus bay, your paediatric crash trolley and your weight charts, so what is practised matches what staff will actually use. This is especially valuable for NICU and PICU teams and emergency departments.
A unit rarely needs only PALS. We can combine PALS for senior staff, BLS for everyone, and ACLS for emergency staff who also treat adults. NICU teams may need NRP too — see PALS vs NRP.

Units that follow PALS training with short, regular mock codes in their own clinical area keep skills far fresher. We can help design scenarios that match your patients, from a bronchiolitic infant tiring on the ward to a septic toddler in the ED.

Two to four weeks is usually enough; tell us if cards are about to expire.
A room with enough floor and table space for infant and child manikins, plus a power socket for the rhythm simulator. A seminar room or a quiet corner of a clinical area both work.
Safety First Medical Services is an American Heart Association training centre on Al Reem Island. HeartCode blended PALS, classroom PALS and on-site PALS for paediatric, neonatal and emergency teams, with a two-year AHA PALS Provider eCard.
