PALS Course for Al Ain
Al Ain is part of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, so paediatric staff there are licensed by DOH. There are two practical ways to take a PALS course with us from Al Ain.
The options
HeartCode PALS online with a skills session at our Abu Dhabi centre, or on-site PALS at your Al Ain hospital or clinic.
Al Ain has its own hospitals with children’s wards, neonatal units and emergency departments, plus a growing number of paediatric and family clinics. Because it sits in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, staff are licensed by DOH, and paediatric units there generally expect PALS for nurses and doctors who look after sick children.
Staff working between the delivery suite and the neonatal unit often need NRP for babies at birth and PALS for infants who become unwell later — see PALS vs NRP and PALS for NICU and PICU teams.
The paediatric cases in HeartCode PALS are worked through online, so the only travel is one visit to Al Reem Island for infant and child CPR and case testing. Nurses who also need BLS usually book it for the same morning — see BLS for Al Ain.
We run on-site PALS in Al Ain with infant and child manikins, paediatric airway sizes and IO trainers, splitting sessions so the ward keeps enough PALS-certified staff on each shift. Family and urgent-care clinics that see children can train their doctors and nurses together — see PALS for family doctors.
Heat-related dehydration in summer, bronchiolitis and asthma in the cooler months, and febrile children who may be septic are among the presentations our scenarios revisit most — see fluid resuscitation and septic shock.
