Hospitality First Aid
Hotels, restaurants and malls serve thousands of strangers a day, many of them tourists who do not know where the nearest hospital is. When a guest collapses, it is a waiter, a lifeguard or a shop assistant who acts first — which is why the sector trains so many staff on a first aid course.

Hospitality and retail first aiders face guest medical emergencies, food allergies, kitchen burns and cuts, pool incidents and slips. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED covers them; hotels with pools and kids clubs often add pediatric first aid.
Guests faint in lobbies, have chest pain after a long flight, or react to a dish. Staff need to recognise anaphylaxis and help with an auto-injector, and to respond to heart attack and stroke signs quickly.
Kitchens produce burns from oil and steam and deep knife cuts — see severe bleeding. Stewarding teams handle chemicals, so poisoning and chemical exposure is worth covering.
Lifeguards hold their own qualifications, but pool attendants and kids club staff benefit from knowing what to do after a drowning incident and from pediatric first aid.

Tourists may not know that 998 is the ambulance number, or which hospital is nearest. Front desk teams can help by calling on their behalf, giving the hotel address and room number, and sending someone to meet the paramedics at the entrance and guide them straight to the room. A short script at the front desk makes this automatic.
