First Aid Course Duration
For most people a first aid course is a single day out of work, so the practical question is exactly how much of the day it takes. The answer depends on which Heartsaver course you need.
Session times at our centre
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED: about 09:00 to 14:30. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED: about 09:00 to 15:00. Heartsaver CPR AED only: about 09:00 to 13:00. The booking form shows the exact time for each date.

Almost all of the time is hands-on: pressing on a wound, applying a tourniquet, rolling a partner into a safe position, practising CPR on a manikin until the rhythm feels natural. Short courses that cut this practice leave people knowing what to do but unable to do it under pressure.

The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course runs from 09:00 to about 14:30 at our centre.
Heartsaver CPR AED only runs from 09:00 to about 13:00; it covers CPR, AED and choking but not wider first aid.
