PALS Certificate
Your PALS certificate is the AHA PALS Provider eCard, issued after you pass a PALS course. For paediatric and neonatal units it is not just an individual credential: it is part of how the unit proves it has enough resuscitation-trained staff on every shift.
In short
An AHA PALS Provider eCard, valid for two years to the end of the month shown, verifiable online. Units often track PALS coverage per shift, so an expired card can affect the roster, not just the individual.
After you pass, the training centre issues your eCard and you receive an email to claim it. It shows your name, the course, the issue and renew-by dates, the training centre and instructor, and a unique code. Register with the name on your passport or licence.
Paediatric wards, NICUs, PICUs and emergency departments often need a minimum number of PALS holders per shift. Managers track expiry dates for that reason, and a lapsed card may take you off certain shifts until you renew — see PALS renewal.
PALS does not replace BLS. Keeping both cards on the same cycle means one renewal date to remember; see the BLS certificate. Emergency staff may also hold ACLS.

Keep a simple register of each nurse’s and doctor’s PALS and BLS expiry dates and review it monthly. We can supply participant lists for staff trained with us and schedule on-site renewals before cover drops.
