First Aid Certificate
After a Heartsaver first aid course you receive an American Heart Association course completion card. For most people it is simply proof for an employer; for HR and HSE teams it is one line in the register of who is qualified to help.
In short
An AHA Heartsaver course completion card (for example Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED), valid for two years to the end of the month shown, issued as an eCard that can be verified online.
The card names the specific course you completed — standard, pediatric or CPR AED — with your name, the issue date and a renew-by date two years later. It is issued electronically; you can download and print it.
Most organisations keep a register of first aiders with card expiry dates, often displayed next to first aid kits so staff know who to call. A copy of your card usually goes on your HR file. See first aid training for companies.

There is no grace period in which an expired card still counts, so book a renewal as soon as you notice. Many employers ask first aiders to book two or three months ahead so there is never a gap in cover. If you are changing jobs, a current card makes onboarding simpler because the new employer can verify it straight away.
Register with the name you want on the card, as it appears on your ID; corrections later take time.
