AHA vs Other BLS
Several organisations run a healthcare-provider level BLS course. In the UAE, the American Heart Association BLS Provider card is the one employers and licensing officers ask for most often — but it is worth knowing what else exists and why that matters.
In short
AHA BLS is the most widely requested BLS certification in UAE hospitals and clinics. Other reputable providers exist, including ASHI, the American Red Cross and the European Resuscitation Council, but acceptance depends on your employer. Always check before booking.
All base their content on the international evidence reviewed by ILCOR, so the core skills are similar. What differs is recognition by a particular employer.
Hospitals and clinics licensed by DOH, DHA and MOHAP most often specify AHA BLS by name. Part of the reason is verification: an AHA eCard can be checked online in seconds — see the BLS certificate guide. If your job offer or credentialling letter names a provider, book that one. If you hold another provider’s card and your new employer wants AHA, you simply take an AHA BLS course; HeartCode BLS is usually the quickest route for experienced providers.
