BLS Team Dynamics
Most in-hospital arrests are handled by a team, and teams fail in predictable ways: two people doing the same job, nobody watching the clock, instructions nobody confirms. The AHA BLS course teaches how a high-performance team avoids that.
In short
Clear roles, one team leader, closed-loop communication, clear messages, knowing your limits, constructive challenge, sharing knowledge, regular summarising and mutual respect.

The leader gives a clear instruction to a named person; that person repeats it back and confirms when it is done. “Sara, swap to compressions.” “Swapping to compressions.” … “On compressions.” It sounds formal and it prevents missed tasks.
The team leader’s most important job in BLS is keeping compression quality high and pauses short, including around the AED.

A short debrief after a real event or a training scenario — what went well, what slowed us down, what we will do differently — is one of the most effective ways teams improve. Our instructors debrief every scenario on the course for exactly that reason.
